51st Annual National Shrimp Festival

If you love shrimp, you have to check out the Annual National Shrimp Festival that takes place right here in Gulf Shores each fall. This will be the 51st annual event for the festival, making it a long-standing tradition for the area.

This four-day event brings in over 250,000 people for an action-packed weekend best spent with friends and family. The Annual National Shrimp Festival is a combination of music, food, and art that brings a little bit of everything for everyone. On the music side, you will find two entertainment stages that will host four days of country, jazz, classic rock, and much more for you to sing along to. You will also find a variety of art vendors on hand for the festival selling their incredible works of art. Browse through the collections of sculptures, paintings, jewelry, fine arts, and much more with each option, making for a great gift to take back home with you.

Enter the Sand Sculpture Contest, where you will be tested in making an extravagant display that is worthy of the top title. Kids will find plenty to do over in the Children’s Activity Village perfect for children of all ages. The Miss Shrimp Festival Pageant is open for any Baldwin County students who are from the area.

Of course, you probably came to the Annual National Shrimp Festival to indulge yourself in the incredible food that is being prepared. You will find that shrimp is the star of the show but not the only food for purchase. You can also find tasty fish tacos, seafood platters, burgers, crab cakes, and much more. Best of the Fest vendors will be on hand who have won awards in year’s past so you know they are good. This year’s 51st Annual National Shrimp Festival will take place October 10th through the 13th. This two day event is perfect for festival goers to experience craft beers from the region and pair them with the delicious cuisine of local food trucks.
